Wroughton

Corylus successfully managed the application process for the installation of a Renewable Natural Gas facility with a solar array on behalf of Rivan Industries. This is the pilot site for a revolutionary and exciting technology, which will produce synthetic gas for injection into the local gas network, which is net-zero due to the process being powered by solar.
Planning permission was granted in January 2025, within the 13 week determination period
Project Highlights:
• Location: Science and Innovation Park, Wroughton
• Environmental Impacts: This first of a kind project will produce synthetic fuel from renewable energy and can be used to de-carbonise hard to abate sectors like steel, cement, aviation and chemical manufacturing that require high quantities of energy or need hydrocarbon molecules for their end product.
Our contribution:
• Our planning team led the project from inception through to successful planning approval. We coordinated closely with the client, prepared a screening opinion request to the Local Planning Authority, prepared all planning documentation, and managed the submission of the planning application.
• Our Landscape Architect team drafted a Landscape and Visual Impact briefing note which accompanied the application.
• Our Architecture team produced the technical drawings of the components and layout of the site which accompanied this successful planning application.
