Overview
Corylus Planning and Environmental Ltd collaborated with Challinor Hitchcock-Yoo’s on the design and delivery of a single-storey replacement extension to the rear of an existing dwelling. The proposal responds sensitively to the established building while introducing a contemporary intervention that enhances spatial quality and landscape connectivity.

Project Highlights
• Creation of a new internal living space, strategically oriented to frame views across adjacent fields and the wider natural setting.
• Clear architectural distinction between the retained historic fabric and the contemporary addition, ensuring legibility of intervention.
• Reconfiguration of the rear elevation to improve spatial continuity, daylight ingress, and internal-external connectivity.

• Preparation and submission of the Planning Application, including supporting documentation.
• Design development from concept through to detailed technical stage, ensuring regulatory compliance and buildability.
• Involvement in contract administration, supporting delivery and maintaining design intent on site.
