The Mooring

The Mooring

Corylus were appointed to design a high-end family residence, tailored to both the constraints of the site and the specific needs of a growing family.

The volumetric composition and passive design strategies were carefully developed in response to the site’s topography, orientation, and surrounding context. Natural light and privacy were integrated into the architectural fabric, resulting in a spatial dialogue that balances openness and shelter.

Outdoor spaces were strategically shaped to optimise useable area and enhance everyday enjoyment of the landscape. Internally, the spatial arrangement was intentionally curated to evoke a cinematographic atmosphere, where transitions between social and private realms are well-defined, offering moments of solitude for both guests and family members alike.

The material palette draws from contextual references and reflects both the client’s vision and our design ethos, establishing an architecture of authenticity and singular character.
