New Hall Solar Farm Planning Appeal

Corylus successfully supported BOOM Power in securing planning consent on appeal for a 22.2MW solar farm in Overton, Wakefield.
The key issues considered during the inquiry included development in the Green Belt, loss of agricultural land, impacts on landscape character and visual amenity, effects on local Public Rights of Way and impacts on a nearby Scheduled Ancient Monument.
The appeal was allowed in June 2025.

• The appeal process involved a 2 week public inquiry, to which our Associate Director of Planning, Chris Cox, provided planning evidence.
• Corylus also managed the appeal process, co-ordinating the appeal process and liaising with the Council and Planning Inspectorate.
